Aurbach Wins Republican Nomination in District 30 and Heads Into General Election
Dallas, Texas, April 11, 2006 - The voters of Congressional District 30 heavily favored Dallas attorney and life-long District 30 resident Wilson Aurbach over his opponent in the race to see who will represent the Republican Party against Democratic incumbent Eddie Bernice Johnson in November. With all precincts reporting, Aurbach comfortably outpaced his opponent, taking home 60.7% of the vote, compared to 39.3% for entrepreneur-consultant Amir Omar.
"My campaign is extremely honored by the victory that the Republican voters of District 30 gave us tonight" commented Aurbach. "I offer a sincere thanks to my voters and supporters in Congressional District 30."
Aurbach said in the general election that his campaign will focus on the same core issues that he has emphasized since entering the race in December: "My campaign is ready to wage an aggressive campaign in the November election against incumbent Eddie Bernice Johnson. I will follow through on my promise in the Republican primary and run-off elections to be a conservative voice for District 30 and focus on local and nationwide issues."
